Utah Pharmacy Technician Certification License
The Utah state board of pharmacy licenses pharmacy technicians for $99. This licensure has to be renewed biennially. Utah pharmacy
technicians have to pass the Thompson Prometric Exam, the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Exam (PTCB), and a Utah pharmacy
law exam. Furthermore, Utah pharmacy technicians have to either pass a formal education course or an on-the-job training course. License
renewal has to be accompanied by 20 hours of continuing education (CE). The maximum pharmacy technician to pharmacist ratio in Utah is 3
to 1 in both institutional and ambulatory settings. The Utah state board of pharmacy may revoke, restrict, deny, or suspend a pharmacy
technician's license.
