Maryland Pharmacy Technician Certification License
Maryland pharmacy technicians are required to have the following conditions satisfied in order to become a registered pharmacy technician;
- Passed the PTCB exam or a Maryland state board of pharmacy approved course that includes a competency exam
- $45 fee
- at least 17 years old
- GED, high school diploma, or going to high school
- criminal background check
This registration must be renewed periodically. This includes completing board-approved CE programs. There are no restrictions on the
maximum number of pharmacy technicians to pharmacists in the state of Maryland. The Maryland state board of pharmacy may deny, revoke,
restrict, or suspend a pharmacy technician's registration.

Maryland Pharmacy Technician Salary
Maryland pharmacy technicians with less than 4 years of experience make an average salary of $11.18 to $14.75 per hour. Maryland pharmacy
technicians with 4 or more years of experience make an average salary of $13.69 to $16.41 per hour.
