How to Get a Job as a Pharmacy Technician

In today's tough employment market, you cannot search for a job haphazardly. You might be surprised to find that these are the steps you'd have to take to land an exciting new career in the expanding health care field as a pharmacy technician;
1. Look for independent pharmacies or nonprofit hospitals in your area and sign up to work as an unpaid volunteer.
2. Enroll in a pharmacy technician school and start studying to pass the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) exam.
3. Apply for paid work as a pharmacy technician at a pharmacy. Keep applying every 2 weeks. Keep reminding them that you're getting experience by working as a volunteer at a pharmacy. Also, let them know that although you're not certified, you are taking a class to help you get certified. For example, if you're taking the QuickTestPrep.com pharmacy technician course, be sure to mention that they have a 99 percent pass rate for the certification exam so that you'll be just as good as certified.
Tips; If you're on a tight budget, you don't have to attend a pharmacy technician school at all. Most states allow you to study on your own to prepare for the PTCB exam. Just check out a pharmacy technician book from your local library. Be sure to double check this with your state board of pharmacy. Also, be sure to dress up wearing office clothes (suit and tie or blouse and skirt) when you apply. Even if you are applying to work at a company that requires online job applications, be sure to drop off your resumes in person in addition to the online job application. Think about it. Would you hire a person whom you've never met to handle your narcotics inventory? So smile, confidently look them in the eye, shake some hands and you'll find a great job in no time!

NhatAnh,
To get CE, there's no need to pay anything. Just go to http://www.powerpak.com . You can do the pharmacist or the technician CE. Both are valid and FREE.
To renew your license, the process differs in different states. You did not say what state you live in. Contact your state board of pharmacy for details.
To get a job with no experience, I suggest that you become a volunteer at your local non-profit hospital or independent pharmacy. Just open up your Yellow Pages and start knocking on doors. Do not call or email as your initial point of contact. A handshake and smile in person will be welcomed while an annoying phone ring in a busy pharmacy will get you ignored. Be polite and make your encounter brief. An uninvited impromptu job interview without an appointment is rude.
Once you have some experience, you will be gold plated in the eyes of many employers.
