Pharm Tech Plan

Hello,
I am new to pharmacy in general but I certinaly see the benefit of phrarmacy, being a tech, and the science behind it all. I have began to study Tom King's pharm tech guide book and it has been very good thus far. I am looking forward to learing everything about pharmacy tech and passing the exam.

A few questions for other members: How is the retail pharmacy enviornment year over year in regards to "having a job? and going to work in that enviornment?"

How long have others worked as pharmacy techs?

How dangerous is it filling percriptions? I mean is it difficult to know that you have the right info / medical history on the patient or does the system now take most of the issues away from techs and from pharmacists?

I hope to blog every other day on this site for the next few months.

Take care

Will14

I've been a pharmacy technician for the past 10 years and the retail pharmacy environment where I work get intense at times, but I love where I work. As with every job, has its ups and downs, so going to work in this environment, you never know what the day will hold.

Is it dangerous filling prescriptions? It can be, yes, knowing the correct info and medical history of a patient is crucial. Most software systems can actually help educate you on some of those issues.

Take care,
